The author of Football Genius is a genius and his name is Tim Green! I love realistic fiction books and I love books that have to do with sports, and it turns out that I got both with Football Genius. This book is my favorite sports book since I read the series by John Feinstein that started with the book Last Shot.
Football Genius is about a 12 year old boy named Troy White who is a little abnormal when it comes to football. Troy can just look at the offense and defense on a football field and know what is going to happen even before the play happens. Troy is also on a football team with his two best friends named Tate and Nathan. They are the only two people who know what Troy can do. Then Troy meets Seth Halloway (middle linebacker of Troy’s favorite team, the Atlanta Falcons) and shows him what he can do...
I loved Football Genius for many reasons. One reason that I loved the book is that Tim Green actually gets how the game of football is played because he actually played for the Atlanta Falcons. Another reason I liked this book is that the characters that you’re supposed to like are easy to like and characters that you aren’t supposed to like are hard to like. My third and final reason that I liked this book is that Tim Green leaves you with a cliffhanger at the end of almost every chapter which keeps you reading.
