Wow! Poached by Stuart Gibbs was amazing! This mystery book had me on the edge of my seat the whole time! Poached is one of the best books I’ve ever read.
Poached is the sequel to Belly Up. The main character, Theodore (Teddy) Fitzroy, is always causing trouble. Both of Teddy’s parents work at FunJungle, an amusement park/zoo. It all started with one small prank. Teddy dropped a fake arm into the shark tank, then the next thing you know he is accused of stealing a koala. The head of security is convinced that Teddy stole the koala. Teddy goes on a series of twists and turns trying to prove his innocence, while the real criminal still lurks.
Poached has somewhat short chapters, but they are very enjoyable to read. Stuart Gibbs puts real world middle school problems into Poached, which makes it easy to connect with. I think Gibbs did a very good job of explaining any new concepts, and that helped me understand the book. I recommend this book to middle schoolers who enjoys mystery.
