Absolutely amazing! Zero Tolerance by Claudia Mills is one of my favorite books that I have ever read. I don’t really get that into realistic fiction because I am more of a fantasy reader, but this book had me hooked! I couldn’t put it down.
Zero Tolerance is about a perfect A+ student named Sierra Sheppard. She had never done anything wrong in her life, but when she accidentally brings a knife to school, that changes. Sierra experiences different feelings and changes as she goes to in-school suspension. The story shows how a perfect student changes so that she is more of a rebel student. Sierra learns more about other people and who they really are, but more importantly learns more about herself. Sierra learns that she can’t always be perfect and that it is ok to make some mistakes in life.
Claudia Mills writes in a way so that some parts are funny, while other parts are more serious. It is written in the first person so that you can understand more easily how Sierra is changing from a perfectionist to a rule-breaker. I like how Claudia wrote in way so that people wouldn’t want to put their book down and would just want to keep on reading. There are new surprises every page and you always want to know what is going to happen next. I recommend this book to people who like to read books that keep you on the edge of your seat and to boys and girls who like fiction and/or non-fiction.
