Half a Chance by Cynthia Lord is a great book about a girl named Lucy. This book is a realistic fiction book. I really like this book because, Lucy is a photographer, and I’m interested in photography. On the scale of one to ten, I would rate this a nine.
Lucy is a girl that has to move to Maine because of her dad’s job. Lucy meets friends at her new house on the lake, a few houses down is Emily and Nate. They come down every year in the summer, in their grandma’s cabin. Lucy goes on the kayaks every day with them, when they’re out there they look over the loons (type of bird). After that, Lucy decides to enter a photo contest, but her dad runs it. Lucy has to think of a plan, fast, to enter, secretly.
What I liked about the book was how Cynthia Lord described the who story. I would recommend this book to any who likes photography and/or realistic fiction. So are you interesting in reading this book now?
