“So it comes to this,
I remember thinking on Wednesday, June 7, 1871.
The date sticks in my mind because it was the
day of my sister’s funeral, and I knew it
wasn’t her last-which is why I left”

One Came Home is a fabulous book written by Amy Timberlake. This book is set in 1871 and the main character is Georgie Burkhart. One day Georgie says something about Agatha (Her big sister) and Billy, Agatha flees with a pack of “pigeoneers” . After a while, The sheriff back a dead body missing its face and the left and right hand.
Everyone assumes it is Agatha because she has the same auburn hair and wearing the same blue green gown, except for Georgie. Georgie sets out on a journey to find Agatha but is she prepared for the truth? This  book is very exciting and it is part mystery and part adventure.
This book is written in 1st person point of view and there are no pictures. I think that this book is a REAL page-turner, and I definitely recommend this book to anyone who prefers mystery and adventure.
